Some providers of records management services think it’s OK to charge you if you would like to switch service providers. (To be clear: You decide to store your records offsite with a company whom you believe will manage them better than you can. At some point, you decide to remove your records from their management. Then, to your dismay, even though you’re current, they send you a bill for ‘permanently removing’ YOUR OWN RECORDS from their care – and maybe even other associated charges, to boot.)
FileVault believes that that’s holding firms ‘hostage’: not letting them have their own records until they get paid a ‘permanent removal fee’.
Depending on the volume of records that you store, this number can be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. We consider this to be an ‘off-balance-sheet’ liability – not your problem, unless management decides to destroy the records on your watch, and you have to explain why the bill is so extraordinary.
Don’t get caught by such a fee – let our Client Happiness Team explain how we can mitigate or even eliminate your exposure to this fee. We do it every month for (pleasantly) surprised new clients.
If your records are subject to such a fee, please call us to see how we can help: Not only will we help you to escape from such fees, but we’ll show you what ‘HostageFree’ really means.
